Although the tropics took a brief break last week, there are signs that they could start to wake up again over the next 7 to 10 days in the Caribbean Sea. Since Sunday, the National Hurricane Center has been monitoring an area with a 30% chance of slowing its formation over the next few days. It is forecast to drift north-northwestward by the end of the week.

As we are about a month away from the official end of hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center has highlighted this region of the Caribbean Sea and just north of Cuba for possible development this week and throughout the first two weeks of November. Although the season is still later, it is not uncommon to see storms forming in the ocean at this time of year, as ENC has seen a fair share of tropical activity in years past .
