Moveworks leverages agentic AI to facilitate business search

Generative AI co-pilot company Moveworks Inc. today announced the immediate availability of a new enterprise search tool powered by an innovative new “reasoning engine” better able to understand what users are trying to accomplish.

The company relies on its flagship product, generative artificial intelligence co-pilot which can be integrated into every business system. It resides in collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Slack, and helps find information and automate tasks on behalf of employees.

Moveworks Copilot previously relied on “recovery-augmented generation” to enable enterprise search. RAG is a technique that allows generative AI chatbots to mine a company’s internal data sets and improve its insights, but while this approach is effective, it has some drawbacks.

One of the problems with RAG systems is that they are unable to determine which sources of information should be trusted and prioritized. Additionally, these systems can sometimes distort information when they can’t find the answer, a phenomenon called “hallucinations.” Additionally, RAG systems present challenges around permissions, integrations, scale, business context and visibility, Moveworks says.

Moving work Company search overcomes these problems by relying instead on “Agentic AI.” Instead of treating business research as a simplistic process of finding information, it offers a more dynamic and goal-oriented approach through its agentic reasoning engine. This allows them to understand the employee’s goal, develop a nuanced plan to help them achieve it, and then find the most relevant information they’re looking for. By doing so, it can provide higher quality search results, the company insisted.

To reassure employees, each search result generated is backed up with citation links, giving them an easy way to verify its accuracy. It also comes with simple integration tools, allowing businesses to link the tool to any system of record they want to use. And there are granular permissions and access controls, so each user will only be able to search data sources they are authorized to access.

Additionally, Moveworks said, its new search tool was designed to handle extremely large volumes of data. There are also analytics tools available, allowing team leaders to analyze how they are being used by their employees.

The startup believes that enterprise search is a deadly use case for agentic AI, citing a 2019 study This shows that 49% of business employees spend up to two hours a day searching for the information they need to do their job.

“By leveraging agentic AI, we solved many of the key challenges that basic RAG systems could not overcome,” said co-founder and president Varun Singh. “Moveworks Enterprise Search provides employees with accurate, up-to-date and personalized answers, ensuring that enterprise search is no longer a problem, but rather a driver of productivity. »
