Oscar Mbo reportedly banned from performing in Limpopo

Musician Oscar Mbo has reportedly been banned from performing in Limpopo after a clash with award-winning singer Makhadzi a few weeks ago.

OSCAR MBO WOULD FACE THREATS

According to a tweet on MDN News, Noko Resort announced on Thursday (October 31) that it had postponed the “Yebo God Summer” event due to safety concerns. This highly anticipated event was to bring together artists such as Oscar Mbo and Mörda.

The postponement of the event comes after Makhadzi and Oscar Mbo made headlines following allegations made against the musician’s team. Makhadzi accused the musician and his team of deliberately removing his USB drive during his set, which interrupted his performance.

Makhadzi’s fans have reportedly demanded that Oscar Mbo be banned from performing in the province after allegedly sabotaging his performance.

YEBO GOD SUMMER EVENT POSTPONED

In a lengthy statement, the festival said it had decided to postpone the event due to threats against one of its main artists.

“In light of recent events, we at Noko Resort have made the difficult decision to postpone our highly anticipated event, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024.

“This decision comes after extensive deliberations and in response to threats directed against one of our key performers. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved – our loyal customers, our talented artists, our partners and our dedicated staff.

“We understand the excitement surrounding this event and we know how much our guests have been looking forward to it.

“Rest assured that we share your disappointment, because we too were eagerly preparing for an unforgettable experience. However, at this time we must act responsibly to ensure we provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

@Oracle5152 wrote: “Other provinces will ban Makhadzi and Karishma if this is the case. What’s going on with the division? If they don’t get along, they need to take care of each other personally and stop dirtying their bags because all these artists have fans residing all over these provinces.

@TheGeopol wrote: “Oscar Mbo should not set foot in Limpopo. It can occur in rural areas of Mpumalanga or KZN, but not in PLK. We have no room for disrespect. Makhadzi is more successful than this Oscar, and disrespecting Karishma is tantamount to disrespecting all of Limpopo.

@mqhelenqabankos commented: “This is not a wise decision. They will quickly realize that when other big artists refuse their concert requests, Makhadzi is now the only artist they have left. Never inherit a beef, unless it’s your mother they’re fighting with.

OSCAR MBO APOLOGIES TO MAKHADZI

During a live session with Makhadzi, Oscar Mbo apologized to the Limpopo singer and explained the circumstances of the incident.

He pointed out that the situation was partly due to inadequate coordination on the part of the event organizer and mentioned that it had been agreed to share the performance times equally, as Makhadzi had arrived late .

This was not the first time he was accused of sabotaging an artist’s performance. A few weeks ago, Kharishma claimed that the musician’s team forcibly removed her from the stage during her set at the annual Blouberg Spring Festival in Limpopo.

In response to the allegations, he apologized to Kharishma.
