“I know how much you wanted to be the sexiest man alive, so I just came to see if you were okay,” Krasinski said.

“Wow, that’s so thoughtful, which in itself is such a sexy quality,” Colbert responded. “I’m starting to understand why they gave it to you.”

“Well, I think it’s that and the biceps,” Krasinski retorted.

To help Colbert get in shape and worthy of People coverage, Krasinski and “The Late Show” host teamed up for a parody of ’80s instructional videos called “6 Simple Steps to Sexuality.” As well as offering fake advice like consuming only water and raw eggs, the duo suggested stealing some “sexy DNA”, with Evans making a surprise appearance in the segment.

“I need your spit to make me sexy,” Colbert told Evans while trying to swab his mouth. From there, Krasinski suggested using the sample to create a serum in “the genetics lab you built using the money you made from reruns of ‘The Office.’ The parody ended with Colbert transforming into Evans after following all the steps.

“I feel like the sexiest man alive,” Colbert said after adopting Evans’ face.

“Sure, 2022, but this year it’s me,” Krasinski replied.

Afterwards, Krasinski sat down with Colbert for a long late-night chat, showing off both of his covers for the 2024 issue of People’s Sexiest Man Alive. The actor and director joked that he only learned the news about “five minutes” before his appearance on “The Late Show.”

“I’m pretty sure it’s still a little bit,” Krasinski said. “I thought it was a prank when they told me and now I’m sure.”

In reality, Krasinski learned of the honor a little earlier, but was sworn to Marvel-level secrecy. However, he slipped and told one person: Matt Damon. Krasinski admitted he accidentally broke the news to the Cambridge star (and 2007’s Sexiest Man Alive) when he showed up late to Damon’s birthday party.

“I think he thought it was a little,” he said of Damon’s nonchalant reaction to Krasinski explaining that he was late because of his People photo shoot. “We’ll see who’s in ‘Ocean’s 15’.”

When asked by Colbert how people and his family in Massachusetts would react to the news, Krasinski said “Thanksgiving is going to be great” before busting out his best Boston accent.

“Oh yeah, the sexiest person?” » said Krasinski. “So you think you’re better than me?” Is that it?

In his discuss the cover story with people For this year’s honor, Krasinski revealed that he had an “immediate blackout” after hearing the news.

“Zero thought,” he told the magazine. “Except maybe I’m punk.” That’s not how I wake up thinking, “Is this the day I get asked to be the sexiest man alive?” And yet, this is the day you did it.

In the article, his wife and fellow movie star Emily Blunt joked that she would wallpaper their home with Krasinski’s Sexiest Man Alive cover.

“My kids will love it, it won’t be weird at all,” she told People.

Besides Krasinski, Dempsey, Evans and Damon, another New England star, Ben Affleck, was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2002.
