The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a notice for Saturday, November 23, 2024, for the counting of votes for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, polling for which took place on November 20.

According to the advisory, the movement restrictions would be around Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex in Dharavi and will come into force at 12:01 am on Saturday and will be in force till 12:00 am on Sunday.

“Due to the strong room located at Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex, Sant Channyya Road Dharavi, Mumbai. The following traffic regulations and control will come into effect temporarily on 23/11/2024 from 00:01 to 00:01,” Mumbai Traffic Police said in a post on X.

Routes concerned

The affected routes would be Assembly Office 178-Dharavi and strong room located at Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex, Sant Channyya Road (Dharavi Depot Road) and Dharavi, Mumbai. “These measures aim to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow during the vote counting process on November 23, 2024,” the notice said.

Entry would be restricted in southbound direction from Sant Channyya Road (Dharavi Depot Road) and Shri Dattu Katake Chauk (Kacharpatti Junction) up to Dharavi ‘Y’ Junction.

Alternative route

According to the advisory, commuters would be diverted from alternative routes to be taken including Shri Dattu Katake Chauk (Kacharpatti Junction) – LBS Marg – Pai Naresh Mane Junction (Sion Station Junction) – turn right towards St. Rohidas Marg and cross Dharavi. “Y” junction.
