NYT Strands today: tips, spangram and answers for Friday, November 8

Strands is an all-new daily puzzle from The New York Times. A trickier version of the classic word search, you’ll need a keen eye to solve this puzzle.

As Word, RelationshipsAnd mini crosswordsStrands can be a little difficult to resolve some days. There’s no shame in needing a little help every once in a while. If you’re stuck and need to know the answers to today’s Strands riddle, check out the solved riddle below.

How to play Strands

You begin each Strands puzzle with the goal of finding the “theme words” hidden in the letter grid. Manipulate letters by dragging or tapping to create words; double tap the last letter to confirm. If you find the correct word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and will no longer be selectable.

If you find a word that isn’t a theme word, it still helps! For every three non-thematic words you find that have at least four letters, you will receive a clue: the letters of one of the themed words will be revealed and you just have to decipher it.

Each letter in the grid is used to spell the theme words and there is no overlap. Each letter will be used once and only once.

Each puzzle contains a “spangram”, one or more special theme words that describe the theme of the puzzle and touch two opposite sides of the board. When you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.

The goal should be to complete the puzzle quickly without using too many clues.
