The Buenos Aires hotel where former One Direction star Liam Payne once stayed his death on October 16 following a fall from a third floor balcony was searched a second time. According to local sources who spoke with Us every weekMunicipal police raided the CasaSur hotel on November 5, with police reportedly leaving the property with numerous items.

“The operations carried out by the municipal police (and) requested by the prosecutor Andrés Madrea (were) within the framework of the case which is subject to summary secrecy,” sources told the media, referring to a prosecutor preserving the secrecy of the judicial investigation.

Details of the raid and what police were looking for are unclear at this time. Video sequence obtained by We courtesy of local media Frandula Show showed three police officers exiting the hotel building carrying blue vests, backpacks and shoulder bags. One of the police officers was said to have carried a cardboard box and several loose objects under his arm. The items were loaded into a police vehicle parked outside the hotel.

The November 5 raid comes just two weeks later a first raid on October 23 on the property. The purpose of the search was to identify employees who worked at the Casa Sur Hotel in the days before and after Payne’s death. The One Direction star died after falling from a third floor balcony. An autopsy revealed he died from multiple injuries as well as internal and external bleeding. Payne, 31, was allegedly alone in his hotel room and experienced a “breakdown” due to substance use, according to initial investigations. The police would have found several substances in his bodyincluding “pink cocaine” containing methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA, and a preliminary autopsy said he “may have fallen into a state of semi or total unconsciousness.”

During the first raid on the hotel, the agents seized, among other things, computer hard drives and images from the hotel’s cameras. An investigation into the circumstances leading to Payne’s death is ongoing.

Rose to fame as one fifth of the boy band One Direction, formed on The X factor in 2010 and went on to enjoy worldwide fame, Payne later embarked on a successful solo career. Following his passing, his former bandmates – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik – said in a joint declaration that they are “completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is capable, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, whom we loved dearly.

Payne’s funeral has not taken place at this time. Police sources confirmed ABC News This week, the prosecutor’s office gave permission to release Payne’s body to his father, Geoff Payne, who has been in Buenos Aires since October 18.
