In a surprise appearance on Joe Rogan’s show The day before the election, Elon Musk took a momentary break from politics to reveal that he was among the world’s top 20 Diablo 4 players, a list that includes only two Americans.

I mean, really, Elon? You expect me to believe that the richest man in the world is one of the craziest Diablo 4 grinders on the planet? Come on.

But it’s all true.

Elon isn’t exactly known for…spreading the truth these days, but he’s not lying about it. You can check, Elon Musk is actually the #19 Diablo 4 player in the world in terms of timed Pit 150 races.

If you follow Elon on Twitter, between thousands of political posts and a few rocket videos, he has indeed periodically shared videos of himself playing Diablo 4 at extremely high levels. Usually he’s a barbarian (and he’s been known to complain directly to Blizzard about the class needing buffs) but like everyone else, he recently played Spiritborn during the Vessel of Hatred expansion, this which is responsible for its current #19 ranking with a somewhat typical Quill build. , but a very good one, it seems.

I’ve seen people speculate that Elon was simply transported or that he paid a bunch of perfect loot to reach these heights. It’s not impossible, but there is no evidence of it. What remains a mystery, however, is that a man who runs several companies, including SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter (X), has the time to go through what must amount to dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of Diablo to be ranked as high if it is not pay for boosts. Plus, you know, tweet at least a hundred times a day. The joke is that he’s so indifferent to his businesses, that’s how he spends all his time, but who knows.

Elon Musk has long been a gamer, previously extolling the virtues of Cyberpunk 2077, a game in which the mother of some of his children, Grimes, appears. Previously, he was mocked for featuring what appeared to be a truly terrible Elden Ring build (see above). He recently called for blocking “gamer” voters, tweeting “make video games great again!” ” and retweeted several “culture war” tweets over so-called woke content in a number of games, adding fuel to these movements.

Whatever you think of him, the man is… a Diablo player, that’s for sure. He’s legitimately one of the best players in the world, which surprisingly isn’t a hyperbolic exaggeration, and we’ll see if, following the election, he can continue to play enough to maintain that spot.
