‘The Movie You’ll Never See’ Is Hidden in a Bulletproof Safe That Will Open Automatically in 2115 – News

This is exciting news for those who will be around in 100 years, but not so much for us.

A – very far in the future – upcoming experimental sci-fi film written and starring John Malkovich is expected to hit screens in 2115.

And if you were hoping for some sort of leak to occur, you’d have a chance of seeing the movie before your great-grandchildren, you will unfortunately have to undertake serious safety work.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez, little has been publicly revealed about the movie bar produced by French company Rémy Martin to promote its Cognac – titled Louis XIII – which took 100 years to create.

Rodriguez got to work directing several short films for the company and the one they identified as being the most popular – titled 100 years – they decided to “lock themselves in” for a century – a nod to the time it takes to prepare the drink.

The short film was announced in 2015 with the tagline “The movie you’ll never see” and three trailers were released, titled Retro, Nature And Future – however, the plot of the film has been kept secret.

And Rémy Martin and the rest of the team involved are certainly going to great lengths to ensure that no one sees the film before its release in 2115 by keeping it locked away in a vault.

In an interview with INTHEPANDA in 2019, Rodriguez said while he was in the process of making “several short films” for the company, the first one that was completed – which he said “would be a commercial or something” – was 100 years old.

He said: “I showed them the film and they said, ‘Yeah, that’s great, that’s great. That’s the one we’re locking up.’

“And I said: ‘What? Is that the one you locked up? And the other one with the future…’ ‘No, it’s the publicity’.”

And it turns out that the company literally wanted to “lock up” the film, a copy of the film shipped to the cellars of Louis XIII in Cognac, Francewhere it will remain in a high-tech vault protected by bulletproof glass until 2115.

And even though Malkovich himself won’t be able to see it, it doesn’t really “bother” him.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2015, he said: “It’s strange, but I thought the idea was so good. It doesn’t bother me at all even not seeing it. For me it was a strange experience, as is often the case, and unexpected, as is often the case. We had no interference, we had no special supervision.

“We could just say, ‘I was thinking about this, what about that?’

When the first date finally arrives in November, almost a century from now, the storage unit will automatically open, allowing a thousand guests to watch 100 years for the first time.

So don’t hold your breath unless you feel like pulling some sort of Now you see me style flight.
