Alistair finally launches his book

Alistair Izobell is finally ready to launch the book that will tell the story of his life.

For forty years, the Cape Town music icon has captivated audiences with his vibrant stage personality.

The veteran artist and producer became a household name at the age of nine in the musical “District Six” and later rose to fame with his hit cover of “Venus” in 1993.

Her impressive theater credits include performances in “Kat and the Kings,” “The Buddy Holly Story,” and “The Doo Wha Boys.”

However, behind the spotlight lies a darker reality.

Unbeknownst to him, Alistair was struggling with depression and on September 13, 2023, the singer attempted suicide.

Two months later, Izobell shocked her fans by talking about her kidding and divorce.

This was before the launch of his autobiography, titled Broken, which was due to be released on December 15, but was later cancelled.

The father-of-two admitted to having a seven-year affair while he was still married to his wife Kim.

He did not reveal who his mistress was, but said in a Facebook video: “I have no reason to reveal the person, who is a very famous singer, a beautiful woman with an incredible heart. But I think she couldn’t commit to us, because of her family dynamics, church and everything else.

Today, Alistair is on a long road to recovery and healing.

His self-published book, now retitled “Broken to Heal,” was born from his therapy sessions and his desire to become a better person.

The book is a collection of anecdotes that invites readers into the life of an artist who, despite his fame, was just a normal child, husband, father and friend.

According to its Instagram page, the book launch will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Artscape.
