The Real Housewives of Potomac star Mia Thornton found a way to establish healthy boundaries between her ex-husband, Gordon Thorntonand her new boyfriend, Inc..

“They haven’t seen each other,” Mia, 39, shared exclusively with Us every week while promoting the Bravo series on Wednesday, October 30. “I actually just took away his access to my floor (when Inc is in town) so Gordon can’t come to my floor. This has been a really big limitation because now I take the back service elevator, so I never encounter him. We don’t see it.

Mia added that it also helps that her boyfriend likes to visit her when Gordon, 72, is out of town.

“We do a better job of just being attentive to his feelings, and I don’t know how much longer I’m going to do that,” Mia explained. “But for now, this is what works.”

The relationship may be over, but the living conditions remain the same. In September 2023, Mia and Gordon announced their breakup after 11 years of marriage. They share son Jeremiah Carter, 9, and daughter Juliana, 7. Mia and Gordon also have a child from previous relationships.

As Mia continues to document her personal life in season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomacshe is happy to report that things between her and Gordon improved after the split.

“We actually do a pretty good job. The children are happy,” she said We. “Gordon is still very present in my building. I’m okay with that as long as there’s no negativity around it. I don’t like negative things. I am a daughter of peace. I really like peace. And as long as you come with good energy, you’re always welcome in my corner suite. But as soon as it’s different and you’re trying to control what’s going on in my corner suite, you need to get out.

Mia gave her ex-husband credit for “respecting my boundaries,” but also finds it beneficial that he’s dating someone new.

“I think he’s now distracted and turning his attention to someone else, which is great,” she said. “It works well. The children love it. I do it (like her). I think she is a good addition to our family. He’s a good member of the team. I hope she stays here for a while.
