Peacock has set January 9 for the season 3 premiere of Alan Cumming-hosted reality competition series The traitors. Cumming himself revealed the news this morning on Today.

The traitors is a competition series in which participants, known as Faithful, work together on missions to win a prize of up to $250,000 while trying to uncover the secret players working against them in an attempt to ban them from the game .

The third season will feature 21 celebrities, at least three of whom will be selected by Cumming to be a traitor, while the rest will be loyalists. Fans will discover the identity of the “Traitors” in the season premiere.

The traitors Season 2 became the No. 1 unscripted series in the U.S. across all streaming platforms during launch week, according to Nielsen. Season 1 won an Emmy Award for exceptional casting for a reality television program.

The traitors is produced by Studio Lambert with Stephen Lambert, Mike Cotton, Sam Rees-Jones, Rosie Franks, Jack Burgess and Tim Harcourt as executive producers.
