On Saturday, BC Commission Chairman G. Niranjan spoke to Nirmal District Collector Abhilash Abhinav over phone to gather details on the issue. The BC Commission has also sent an official letter to the Collector on this matter.

Hyderabad: After residents of Gundampalli and Dilawarpur villages in Nirmal boycotted the caste census to protest the establishment of an ethanol plant, the BC Commission asked the district collector to contact the villagers and inform of the benefits of the investigation.

On Saturday, BC Commission Chairman G Niranjan spoke to Nirmal District Collector Abhilash Abhinav over phone and sought details of the issue. A letter was written to the Collector on behalf of the BC Commission in this regard. The collector was asked to contact the villagers, explain to them the benefits of the in-depth survey and convince them not to obstruct it. It was informed that the Collector was in touch with them and a thorough investigation will be conducted, a press release from the Commission said.
