Wind Warning Issued for Southeast Michigan Through Thursday Evening

Thursday at 10:12 a.m. EDT, a wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Thursday between noon EDT and 10 p.m. EDT for Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee. and Monroe Counties.

“Southwest winds are blowing between 15 and 25 km/h with gusts of 40 to 45 km/h expected,” specifies the meteorological service. “Late afternoon showers could cause locally stronger wind gusts.”

“Gusts of wind will blow around unsecured objects. Tree branches may be downed and some power outages may result,” the weather service says. “Such strong winds can make driving difficult, especially for high-end vehicles. Use extreme caution.”
