Amsterdam (Total: S$100 before the hike)

For passengers departing from Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, their airport fees include a passenger service fee, a security service fee and a state tax. These now amount to around €70 (S$100).

On October 31, Schiphol announced a series of fare adjustments between 2025 and 2027 for passengers and airlines, citing soaring inflation and rising interest rates. The funds collected will also be used to improve services to airlines and passengers, as well as the working conditions of airport staff, the airport said.

In April 2027, departing passengers will pay €74 in airport fees and taxes. For airlines, their fares will increase by 37 percent over three years – a decision which has been criticized by the Dutch national carrier, KLM.

Bangkok (Total: S$30)

At Suvarnabhumi Airport and five other Thai airports, the passenger service charge for international travelers was increased from 700 baht (S$27) to 730 baht in April to cover the cost of a new automated system of processing of passengers.

After including an international departure and arrival fee of 15 baht and an advance passenger processing user fee of 35 baht, those departing from Bangkok’s main airport now pay 780 baht in airport fees and taxes.

Seoul (Total: S$24)

The price of an international flight from Seoul Incheon Airport includes 25,000 won (S$24) in airport fees and taxes. These include a 17,000 won passenger service fee, a 7,000 won departure tax and a 1,000 won fee designated for an international disease elimination fund.

The departure tax was initially 10,000 won, but the South Korean government reduced it in July to ease the burden on travelers.

Dubai (Total: S$45)

Travelers taking off from Dubai International Airport – a major air hub in the Middle East – pay four different airport taxes and fees totaling 125 dirhams (S$45). They include passenger service fees, facility fees, and safety and security fees.
