Cruise line offers travelers chance to ‘skip’ Trump presidency

A cruise line launched a “Skip Forward” package: a four-year residential trip where you can sail very, very far from America.

The journey will take ticket holders to all seven continents, with visits to more than 425 ports in 140 countries.

According to the operator’s website, the Villa Vie Odyssey ship will spend a month in the Caribbean before embarking on a four-month voyage to South America including two transits through the Panama Canal, the Chilean fjords, a sailing in Antarctica, Rio Carnival and eight days crossing the Amazon River.

Residents also have the option to “customize” their trip to any port as the adventure continues.

This long journey is part of the company’s mission Life Tower program – and it comes with a hefty price tag.

The four-year package costs $159,999 (£125,000) per person for a double room, while a single-occupancy cabin costs $255,999 (£200,000), according to the company’s website.

However, if a four-year cruise is too much to do, the company offers a range of packages, including the one-year ‘Escape from Reality’ package starting at $49,999 (£40,000).

Other options include the ‘Mid-Term Selection’ which lasts two years and costs from $93,999 (£73,000), and the three-year ‘Everywhere But Home’ cruise which is available from $129,999 (£102,000).

The price includes all food, drinks (except alcohol, which is only included with dinner), WiFi and medical visits.

Additionally, housekeeping is provided weekly and laundry service is bi-weekly, all at no extra cost.

He said: “Although the campaign was organized before the election results, we believe we have a perfect product for those who said they would leave the country if XYZ won the election.

“We may have different political views, but our community comes together through our passion for exploring the world in a very real way that goes far beyond politics.”

Earlier this year, the company launched a “Endless Horizons” Package aimed at retirees hoping to explore the world in luxury and giving them a chance to beat inflation.

The “lifetime” ticket required a one-off payment of $299,999 (£235,000) for a single room and $499,999 (£400,000) for a double room.

The 1,031-day cruise began its journey in September, allowing its passengers to visit 147 countries, 425 destinations and more than 100 islands.
