Chargers’ Joey Bosa admits to playing time

Los Angeles Chargers Star defender Joey Bosa has been quietly returning to the field over the past two weeks, albeit on a snap count.

That snap count is apparently something that won’t change in Week 10 against the Tennesse Titans — and maybe for a little longer.

Let Bosa tell it, the snap counting rotation while he deals with the hip injury could potentially last for the rest of the season, as captured by The Athletic. Daniel Popper: “At the moment I’ll probably manage the shots, but my goal is definitely to be back towards the end of the year – or hopefully sooner – fully, as many shots as there are need me.”

Bosa played 20 snaps in his return in the win over the New Orleans Saints, then 19 in the win over the Cleveland Browns. During that span, he was mostly limited on injury reports during the week.

While still effective in a rotation, the Chargers would like to see more of a contribution from Bosa, given his $26 million cap hit (which rises to $36.4 million in 2025 unless the team uses the potential).

Perhaps Bosa can return to a full workload sooner than expected, but the team probably doesn’t want to risk another setback either. After all, the team is in position to make the playoffs – and maybe that could lead to a full Bosa for that, right?
