Stanford softball officially recruits seven Class of 2025 recruits

A new era in the ACC has Stanford softball looking to make some noise in its new conference, and one way to do that is to attract additional talent. This week, seven Cardinals officially commit and will join Stanford in time for the 2025-26 season. Addy Sheppard, Elena Krause, Jordana King, Sophie Jin, Anna Brasseur, Adriana Callahan And Izzy Cacatien all are locked in and ready to go.

Jin, currently a senior at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, is the ultimate contact hitter as she dazzled last season after finishing with a .560 average with 15 RBIs as she became one of the the most important players of the SRV. A star at second base, Jin’s glove secures that side of the infield every time she’s on the field because she’s not afraid to get dirty. Leading the Wolves to a 13-12 mark in a tough East Bay league, Jin is expected to play another big role before joining the Cardinal.

A native of Kingwood, Texas, Sheppard’s ability to play just about any position on the infield makes his versatility one the Cardinal will be happy to deploy. She is also a power hitter who not only has power but also the ability to make contact. During her career, she was a two-time first-team all-district selection and won District 21-6A Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 and MVP in 2024. From Pontiac Township High School in Pontiac, Illinois, Krause has been a star for the Indians since his high school career began, being named to the Illinois Coaches Association All-State first team from 2022-2024 and named in her school. MVP during these three seasons. As a junior last season, his exploits helped the Indians finish undefeated in their conference, ultimately leading to a state tournament championship. A pitcher and infielder, Krause will fit in perfectly with the Cardinal.

Coming out of Garfield High School in Seattle, King is the 72nd ranked prospect according to Line Drive Softball and has dominated the Bulldogs since his freshman season, winning the Garfield High School MVP award for three straight seasons, from 2022-2024. A junior last season, King hit .686 with 15 homers and 60 RBIs, also owning a 1.333 ERA and a whopping 2.073 OPS. His strong season earned him a spot on the Washington All-State first team. On the court, she plays the field where her career fielding percentage of .942 proves what a five-tool player she is.

The Cardinal had a lethal arm in Brewer, who has the ability to reach the upper 60s with a punishing ball and with her strong ability to change speeds, she can create problems for hitters. During her three-year high school career, Brewer has earned numerous accolades, including being named to the Tennessee Sport Writers Association All-State team in 2023 and 2024, named Preseason Player of the Year in 2024, three times in all districts. selection as well as winning state in 2021 and 2022, while also being a runner-up in 2023. Brewer will look to have a strong senior year before heading to The Farm in the fall of 2025.

An outfielder/utility player, Callahan is a native of Franklin, Tennessee, where at Page High School she was a two-time NFCA All-American and excelled in the classroom, being named an NFCA All-American scholar-athlete. Last season, she hit .500 with nine homers and 22 RBIs, continuing to be a valuable part of her team.

A California native, Cacatian was ranked as the No. 19 player in the Class of 2025 by Extra Innings and played for South Torrance High School. During her career, she was a three-time first-team All-Pioneer League selection and was twice named Offensive Player of the Year. A powerful right-handed bat that is exceptionally strong against lefties, Cacatian will be an important piece of the puzzle at Stanford while also looking to provide a solid glove at catcher.
