EPA sends $47 million to Nevada for water infrastructure

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) – The Environmental Protection Agency will send $47 million to the state of Nevada to upgrade Nevada’s water infrastructure.

The grants will fund wastewater management projects, protect freshwater resources and provide clean drinking water to homes, schools and businesses.

The funding was announced by Nevada Senators Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto.

“All Nevadans deserve access to clean, safe drinking water, and I am proud to see these funds coming to Nevada to make critical improvements to our water infrastructure,” said Senator Cortez Masto.. “I will continue to work in the Senate to provide critical resources to protect our water supply for generations to come.”

“All Nevadans deserve access to clean water, which is why I have worked across party lines to make historic investments to improve our water infrastructure,” said Senator Rosen.. “I am proud to announce millions of dollars to protect our water supply and provide clean drinking water to Nevada families, communities and tribes.”

The money will come from two EPA grants, one for $26 million from the bipartisan Infrastructure Act that will support water infrastructure and one for $21 million through the State Revolving Fund for Water. drinking water and drinking water to guarantee access to drinking water.
